Aphrodite

What Lies Ahead

Even with the holidays approaching, I'm going to try to keep the update schedule as usual for the next few weeks. (Daily Updates Monday-Friday, and a Weekend Update).

Believe it or not, I still plan on commenting on 'Never Leave Me' and 'Bring On The Night'. Look for that by Christmas.

Mighty Aphrodite

Aphrodite posted more information about Episode 14 at Television Without Pity.

A funny thing I heard about episode 14 that I haven't seen here yet: Giles is unable to communicate with the Vietnamese SIT so he decides to make flashcards for her just like the ones he made in HUSH. He shows her helpful flashcards of vampires attacking slayers, and bringers and monsters attacking slayers and scares her so much she locks herself in the bathroom and refuses to come out. I JUST LOVE Giles!!!

My source said the SIT was Vietnamese -- they could be wrong but that is what I was told. And I actually don't know the name of the SIT in question -- sorry! Also, re: something someone posted earlier, Giles is mad at Buffy because again, she didn't tell anyone that she asked for Spike's chip to be removed. More bad Buffy behavior!

In addition, another poster at the board, Slanderous, passed along this tidbit...

Wait, aphrodite-in-nyc, the Asian SIT is Vietnamese? And her name is Chao-Ahn or Chao-Anh? Huh. "Chao anh" means "greetings, older man figure" in Vietnamese, and is not a real Vietnamese name. Much like the Rambo II: First Blood character Co, which is simply the Vietnamese word for "young girl."
More good information, as it fits with mine. She's supposed to be Vietnamese, but that could change according to my info (then again, maybe not). I think it's going to come down to whatever language the actress can speak fluently.

The funny thing is that the flashcards were not what I was referring to when I mentioned the moments between Giles and Chao-Ahn. There's a lot of comedy in the exchanges, with neither party having any idea what the other is saying (which means the name thing could be correct as well). I really don't want to give away the details, because they are really minor spoilers, but I think it's going to be the highlight of the episode.
