Oracle, Sleeper

New Info

The Oracle posted at the Cross and Stake today, with a bit on both Seven and Eight.

Episode 7

NEW! - First they were an Evil Trio. Now, without Warren, it's a Duo. By the end of the episode, it'll be down to one. :(

---

Episode 8

UPDATED! - Spike feeds from and turns several people. But, not on his own. He is being manipulated by The First and forced to kill since the First can't actually do it (the First can't take solid form). The fresh young vampires Spike created group together and attack Buffy. He then breaks down and begs the real Buffy to help him and she *tries*. (All of this info is very difficult to be sure about since there is a real Spike and a "First" version of Spike in the episode much as there are "First" versions of other characters. Still, judging from the plot, it's *somewhat* clear that although the real Spike is the physical body that does the killings, the real Spike isn't doing it of his own control and doesn't want to be hurting anyone.)

The news about the remaining members of the Troika is interesting, I can only hope that if correct, it's Andrew that meets an untimely end (nothing against him personally, I just would hate to see Jonathan be the one).

Roller Coaster

Now let's turn back to the mystery that is Spike and Episode Eight. Based on the various tidbits that have been floating around, I've come up with the following scenario. This is all speculation, but I think what little we know points in this direction.

Spike does not know what he does when he is possessed. This would explain why he is at first 'nice Spike' with the girl in the one Location Shoot, then starts to walk away and comes back and kills her. This might also explain the scene in the Bronze with the vampire. Maybe this is one of Spike's newly-sired, and he just doesn't realize that is what she is.

This would tie in with the title 'Sleeper', and should be especially familiar to those 'Alias' fans who remember the contract killer who killed Danny (he was in a hypnotic state when he did his killing, and did not remember it afterwards). It's a neat little twist, but does it really change anything?

At this point, I'm not entirely sure what she does in this episode. It's possible that she realizes that 'The First' is on the prowl again, and a bit more info about 'Sleeper' came to light that may indicate this. (Thanks to ECH at Fan Forum)

Meanwhile, Giles makes what may be a cataclysmic discovery that could affect everyone’s future.
I can only presume that Giles is going to be the one to pass along the information about 'The First'. But it might not be. If the rumors I'm hearing are anywhere close to true, the Scoobies are going to have a lot more on their mind than Spike by the end of Sweeps.
