Mark Metcalf, Comments

The Master Of All Media

There is some news on the Mark Metcalf front, which was posted at the Cross and Stake by Dave.

It happens that Mark Metcalf lives in the area, and has a small segment on a local radio station where he recommends movies to watch. It's entertaining. But anyhow, the subject of his acting came up.

He mnetioned that the Master *WILL* be back for one episode early this season, and at least one episode late in the season. More than that he didn't say, he was still waiting for the scripts to arrive. Filming for his first episode will be taking place this month.

This isn't speculation or rumor, this is straight from Metcalf's mouth, so take it as truth.

While I can't confirm it at this time, I am aware that he does appear on the radio and certainly might have said this. I actually have a couple of people who are keeping an 'ear' out on this topic, but haven't heard from anyone just yet. I hesitate to actually up the ranking just yet, as it wouldn't be the first time that an interview or actor comment has promised a return that didn't happen (In the Watcher's Guide 2, Elizabeth Anne Allen mentioned that she would be de-ratted in Season Five)

Standing On Shaky Ground

While surfing the boards, I've noticed that there is a trend to take comments or speculation I make here, as comparable to the Spoilers on the Spoiler Slayer page.

I just thought it would be a good time to point out that this section of the site, while commenting on spoilers, is for the most part my own speculation about the spoilers. So while I might mention that Spike's hair color is going to change, or that the Magic Box will be no more, you'll still want to judge the spoilers by the rankings they receive on the Spoiler Slayer page.

I can make presumptions, like those about the crypt set being taken down, based on info that I have posted before. However, much like last year, there is the possibility that these are spoilers being built on other unconfirmed spoilers. The 'Crypt' spoiler is partially tied to the reports of a location shoot last season, where the Scoobies went to Spike's crypt and discovered that it was abandoned. This never aired during the finale, but we've never had a solid report that this is what was filmed. In this case 1 + 1 might equal 'false spoilage'.

The same is true for the 'hair' spoiler. Remember the source who passed along the 'Spike walks into the daylight' spoiler? Well, in addition to that spoiler, they also mentioned that Spike would have a new hair color in Season Seven. So should I trust a spoiler that's very similar to a source that ended up being incorrect? It's a tough call.

Finally, and perhaps the most important thing, is that at this time anything can still change. So while I'll talk about spoilers or speculation on this portion of the site, when considering the validity of any spoilers, please stick with the rankings on the Spoiler Slayer page.

BTW: While I haven't announced it officially, I will likely be doing daily updates from this point on.
