ATS: 'Shells' Summary

This represents a brief summary of Angel Episode 16: Shells. It will be updated as new articles or info is posted. More detailed and complete information can be found in the original articles or additional sources.

Illyria awakens and heads to Wolfram and Hart, while Angel and Spike return from England. At Wolfram and Hart, Gunn and Harmony are trying to get information out of Knox. Everyone eventually meets up there.

Wesley is out for revenge for Fred's death and is about to kill Knox, when Illyria grabs him and escapes. Angel tries to contact Willow, but to no avail. They track Illyria to Fred's lab, where she is drawing power from the sarcophagus. There is a battle, where she throws Angel out of the window, and then slows times and escapes again with Knox.

Gunn confronts the Doctor about the deal that they made, and Wesley overhears and discovers that Gunn had a hand in Fred's death (though unwittingly). Wesley stabs Gunn, badly injuring him. This forces Angel to take control of the situation, saying that instead of fighting they need to work on saving Fred.

Illyria is trying to open a portal to a dimension where her temple and army are awaiting. She's in the lobby of Wolfram and Hart doing so when the others arrive. She's about to go through with Knox, when Wesley shoots and kills him, the follows Illlyria through the portal. On the other side, Illyria is shocked to find her army is gone. She then vanishes again.

As the others try to pick up the pieces and deal with Fred's death, a worried Illyria appears to Wesley and asks for his help.
