ATS: 'Origin' Summary

This represents a brief summary of Angel Episode 18: 'Origin'. It will be updated as new articles or info is posted. More detailed and complete information can be found in the original articles or additional sources.

Everyone is still dealing with the aftermath of Fred's death, though strangely Illyria seems to be becoming part of the team. Just when things couldn't get any stranger, Wesley asks Angel to meet with the parents of a young man who survived getting hit by a van. The parents turn out to be those who Connor is living with, and the young man is Connor. Angel tells Wesley to send them away, which Wesley does not understand.

Angel confronts Hamilton, who has no idea why Connor may have been brought back into play. Angel follows the family back to where they are staying, where they are attacked by demons. Connor's father is injured, but both Angel and Connor save the day. He takes everyone back to Wolfram and Hart, and in a roundabout way, reveals that Connor isn't the only super-powered person in the world. Connor, who has no idea about his past, thinks that it's incredibly cool.

Wesley is able to discover that the demons worked for a powerful Warlock, Cyvus Vail. Angel goes off to confront him, while Wesley begins to unravel the truth about what happened at the end of last season. Vail expected Angel to come, as he had Connor attacked for a reason. He blackmails Angel, stating that unless he gets Connor to kill Sahjahn (the time demon from a few seasons back), he will break the spell that Connor is under. He can do this by shattering a mystical artifact called the Orlon Window.

Angel returns to Wolfram and Hart, where he relays this to Connor. Since it's the only way to protect his family, Connor agrees to fight and they head back to Vail's. Hamilton, in the meantime, is paying a visit to Gunn (who is still trapped in the torture dimension). He offers to free Gunn from this prison, but Gunn refuses.

At Vail's, he locks Connor in a room and releases the spirit of Sahjahn from the jar where it has been for the past few years. At first, Connor seems to be winning, but we realize that Sahjahn was just playing with him. Just as it seems all is lost, Wesley and Illyria show up. Wes is furious, thinking that Angel sold them all out when he agreed to work with Wolfram and Hart. Angel admits what really happened, and that Connor is his son. Wes gets even angrier, feeling that Fred died in order to save Connor. Not believe Angel when he says that breaking the Orlon Window will bring back Fred, Wes smashes it.

As their memories return, Connor quickly dispatches Sahjahn. However, Connor still has no memory of Angel. While everyone else deals with their newly-released memories, Connor is reunited with his false-family. As they leave, Connor mentions that it will be up to him to protect them in the future. Which is something his father, Angel, taught him.
