Sunday Update - Spoiler Zone, NB Comments

Still not much in the way of new news, but there are a few things to mention.

Wendy updated the SpoilerZone, as usual there are a few tidbits that I may not have mentioned (nothing earth-shattering), but still good to hear about.

Right now, I am not going to do any speculating or discuss what might happen with the show after Season Seven. I do know that in addition to some comments that have been made about Marti Noxon's three year contract with Fox (which in some reports would seem to indicate that Buffy may continue past Season Seven), Nick B. made some comments at a convention this weekend which could indicate that Joss and the cast may only continue through Season Seven (contracts or no contracts).

Yes, Joss is going to be busy with Firefly, but Fox also made a point of getting Marti under contract as well. Anything could be possible, including many variations on the Slayer theme (BTVS: The Next Generation or maybe just Slayer - Okay, I'm half kidding here, but I can't imagine that shows dealing with future or past Slayers haven't been at least considered). While I hope that Firefly is a success, we should remember Fox's history with Sci-Fi series. Even Chris Carter (creator of the X-Files) had two series canned within weeks of their debut. For every X-Files and Dark Angel, there's about 10 series that don't make it. The good news is that as long as the show gets the ratings Fox is looking to grab, it could settle in for a long run. Once a show makes it past the first season with Fox, that's usually a good sign. They also seem reluctant to let go of series either - just look at the run that The Simpson's has had.
