PM Update Spoilage from KC

PM Update

Spoilage from KC was posted on the Crawford Street message board.

1st deals with the "geeks" being gone before Buffy's birthday. That is false because her birthday is before episode 16. We are to discover warren is the more evil. They may be gone after this episode but no earlier.

2nd is the S/B relationship. To put it simple KC has been informed that will be over shortly.

In terms of the spoiler that the 'geeks would be gone before Buffy's birthday', I didn't really buy that spoiler to begin with. Although everything points to the geeks being "Gone" at the end of 'Gone', it doesn't mean that they won't be back before the end of the season. Add the fact that episode 16 has almost always been the final episode before the Spring Break, and there's a good chance that something will happen in that episode. Since KC originally talked about Warren being more evil a while back, it really doesn't change that spoiler.

As to the Spike/Buffy relationship, that's another problem entirely. I myself do not seeing it come to an end anytime soon, and Marti herself hinted that it wouldn't be just a fling. Which I think has to make sense, if you just wanted Buffy to feel that she did something wrong, she would only need to sleep with him once. The fact that there will be continued relations between the two, I feel is tied to what's wrong with Buffy. One will not be resolved without the other, and I have a feeling that this is going to occupy most of the second half of the season. 'Wrecked' and 'Gone' are going to bridge the gap between the two halves, so I would say both Willow's and Buffy's 'addiction' has a way to go before things settle.

Also, I should address a couple of topics I get e-mails on quite frequently. I know I do this a lot, but it seems that I get these questions in batches, and I'm both having problems getting my mail and answering it promptly. I figure this is the best way to cover those frequent questions here (and yes, the redesign does have a FAQ) ;D

- Although it's entirely possible that the writers might be planning on having Buffy be the 'Big Bad' this season, I really don't think that it will happen. Having her turn evil, or careless, or join sides with Spike would not be a story angle I could see them doing. Yes, she has her problems, but has there been a season where she hasn't. I also get a lot of thoughts that the 'Big Bad' might actually be the gang's personal demons. Again, that's something that seems to be a constant story arc with the Scoob's. I do think that the combination of Buffy's and the Scoob's issues will cause more than it's share of trouble when the 'Big Bad' does appear. In the past, the 'Big Bad' has usually been something that Buffy couldn't just wipe the floor with. This season, we've already seen a bumbling 'Little Bad' give her a run for her money, so I would expect the trend to continue to the second half. At this point, I don't even think she could deal with Ethan Rayne, let alone a halfway competent 'Big Bad'.

- I've also received a number of e-mails about the cutting of the FX episodes. Which I'm surprised people are only noticing now, since I thought it was widely reported that the FX episodes would be edited for syndication. Every series that goes into syndication, has bits and pieces cut out to make more room for commercials. At least it's not the BBC, which is notorious for it's editing of the Buffy episodes. Which is the reason why I'm not taping the episodes I'm missing (Season One and Two) off of FX. The good news is that DVD sets will be complete and with added bonuses like commentary for certain episodes. The first season will be coming out in mid-January and it priced at only $29.98 at Amazon. If you're interested, there's a link on the Spoiler Shop page (and it is the hottest item there, twenty copies have already been bought through this site. Thanks for your support).
