There's also another writer interview

There's also another writer interview up at the BBC, this one with Jane Espenson. I believe it's really important to consider that the writers are not dropping spoilers about Season Six in the UK. I noticed this with both Marti and now Jane. They're talking about how the show is laid out, and general character theories and plans, but I wouldn't put any faith in that it will be what really happens.

I'm also going to go over (again), the entire reason why I downgraded the 'Chip Malfunction' spoiler. I thought I was pretty clear on the reasons, but I'm still getting mail about this spoiler. Yes, I know what TV Guide, Zap2It, UPN, and TIVO is saying. I'm saying that they're wrong or being deliberately vague. Everything I have seen from accurate spoiler sources, point to this progression.

Spike and Buffy fight
Spike hits Buffy and there is a delay before the chip goes off
Spike tests his chip on a human girl, the chip goes off immediately.
Spike gets into a fight with Buffy again, this time the chip doesn't work at all. Spike figures out that Buffy is probably possessed.

If this is what happens, then there is no malfunction. I also disagree with the thought that Buffy's rejection of Spike, will cause his chip to overload (because he's so angry). He's been mad before, and it hasn't changed the fact that the chip still works. I could be wrong, but from what I've heard spoiler-wise, the above makes the most sense. We should know by Monday morning.
