Okay, I've said it before,

Okay, I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again...

I'm here to talk about spoilers. I am not here to talk about the pros or cons about any particular ship. Things are starting to get a bit bothersome in the comments section again, and I want it to stop now. There are one or two shippers who are getting close to wearing out their welcome. If you want to talk about the possibilities or chances that a particular ship is going to happen, there are plenty of other places to talk about it. Here, it's all about the spoilers. I've said in the past that I only go where the spoilers take me. If you don't like my reasoning for ranking a spoiler a certain way, you are more than welcome to provide proof or your own analysis that brings you to an alternate conclusion.

I also want to address this entire issue of Buffy/Spike one more time. I think that I have been more than thorough in my explanations for ranking a spoiler a certain way. Especially when it comes down to terms of what is going to happen between those two. I have always been very careful to distinguish between the various levels of the Spike/Buffy relationship. At this point we know they kiss and it's almost confirmed that they are going to take it to the next level. After that, all bets are off. The point everyone seems to be missing is that the writers have obviously paired these two off. They are technically a couple already, but what is the actual relationship. Is it a true one, or are they just using each other. We don't know, and for those who say that I rank every pro-Buffy/Spike spoiler as 'Likely', I believe the one where 'Buffy Rejects Spike' is also ranked likely.

At this time, there is absolutely nothing that points to a Buffy/Xander relationship, or even Xander breaking it off with Anya. Does anyone really think that there isn't going to be a wedding (although whether or not they make it through the ceremony is questionable), but the writers wouldn't pass up on the wackiness that the preparation would be. Before you go jumping on me for supposedly ranking spoilers based on a Xander/Buffy connection, you should know this. I had already written up and posted the spoilers as 'highly unlikely', before I even saw the bit about Xander. That came about half and hour after I originally posted the spoilers here, and I just added that to the entry.

The point is, every judgement I make is based on what I currently know, and the direction the show seems to be heading. I do not base the rankings on emotional issues, I base them on the facts. I also take issue with the thought that any Buffy/Spike rumor automatically gets a likely. If you have been visiting the page for any length of time, you would know that most of the Buffy/Spike issues start off like the rest, as 'possible'. Here's a rundown from exactly one month ago.

UK RumorUnlikely

Only one Likely, and that was based off of Multiple Script Snippets that supported that Spoiler. Why are most Spike and Buffy spoilers 'Likely' right now, well probably because of the longing looks, the banter, and the fact that the next episode ends with them kissing (not to mention other spoilage having them get closer and then further apart, all 'likely'). The reason why I added the bit about the Xander arc, is that it fits the pattern of the false spoilers that started appearing last season. Xander goes to LA to discover his destiny. Xander finds out that he and Buffy have a shared destiny. Anya sacrifices herself to save Xander. All of them have the same thread, it's all to get Buffy and Xander together, and they all turned out to be false.

The moral of the story, if you're not happy with my rankings or reasoning, give me logical reasons. Base it on facts or solid evidence, not your particular desire for a certain ship. I'll even go further into detail if required. For example, I agree that Xander is going to be all over Buffy for hanging with Spike. It fits his profile, he did the same with Angel. But I don't see Anya being threatened by this, in fact I think all of the Scoobies are going to have a problem with it, not just Xander. Anya certainly isn't going to break up with him, over something she already knows and has seen firsthand (IWMTLY). But I am tired of these arguments on other boards, and I really don't want to see them crop up here. Spoilers, not Ships.

Thank You and I hope you'll keep enjoying the spoilers and the discussion.
