I had an interesting thought

I had an interesting thought on the way home from work today, and I think it's one that bears a little examination. We had been getting spoilers which are pointing towards Willow being involved with bringing Buffy back from the dead. For the most part, one could believe that it just didn't sound right, after all Joss said her return would be amazing. I myself was originally listing this spoiler as 'unlikely'. Then a couple of things happened that moved this into the confirmed column. First, we have two different shooting location reports. The first confirmed part of the episode plot for the premiere, which kind of lends more credence to the entire spoiler breakdown for the premiere. The second report has Spike supposedly coming right out and saying that Willow had no right to bring her back. Then there is the interview with Joss in 'Out' magazine where he says that 'Willow is involved'.

But perhaps we should be thinking more about 'Why?' rather than 'How?'. If the Scoobies are the ones to make the decision, and it's being done three to five months after she died, one can only imagine that they have a darned good reason for doing it. We've also seen bits and pieces that point towards the new storyline, that will satisfy the old fans, but where is the second story arc to bring in the new ones? Will there be one, or is it just going to be presented through the first? Things that make you go 'Hmmm'.
