Joss Interview In SFX

Also floating around the Net today (much like the 'Tru Calling' pilot), is an interview with Joss Whedon that appeared in SFX Magazine. While much of the interview is news that has already popped up elsewhere, the magazine itself made a very strange claim... According to SFX, Spike will return next season on 'Angel' as a human. Immediately following that statement is a direct quote from Joss, which indicates that Spike will be a 'voice of reason', actively questioning what the 'Fang Gang' is doing hooking up with Wolfram and Hart.

At least, that's how I'm reading it.

Which, aside from the entire human spoiler, makes sense to me. It is essentially the role that Cordelia played for much of her time on both shows, so it's a spot in the cast that's going to need filling. Of course, it's going to be strange seeing Spike in that role.

I'm still not convinced about the 'Spike is reincarnated as a human' bit, although I wouldn't put it past the writers. But I would point out that this is the magazine's statement, and not a direct quote from Joss.
