Finale Casting, TV Guide

More SIT's

Edward at FilmJerk.com posted casting info for the finale. Although it appeared yesterday, I not only trust the source but I've gotten secondary confir m as well.

Episode 7.22, entitled "The Chosen," is naturally being written and directed by Joss Whedon himself. What the production is looking for this time around is for five potential slayers. Our sources tell us a casting call went out today for the following roles:

Potential Slayer #1: East Indian, 14-17 years, she topples over in a marketplace, hit by something she doesn’t understand
Potential Slayer #2: Caucasian, 12 years old, this unsure, mousy softball player at bat looks down at the plate, then looks up again with a wicked grin, steadying for the pitch
Potential Slayer #3: Japanese, 14-17 years, at home with her family, backs slowly away from the table feeling a bit unsteady
Potential Slayer #4: African American, 14-17 years, a girl in school who is ignored by the crowd, then steadies herself on a locker and looks around with new eyes
Potential Slayer #5: Caucasian, white trash, chubby. 14-17, when her father takes a swing at her, she rises powerfully, grabbing his arm, wrenches it away from her

We are told all five roles are non-speaking parts, and probably will not be working directly

This is way open to interpretation, so I really don't want to speculate on what this could mean. My best guess is that this will be part of a montage, but whether this indicates the calling of a single Slayer (ie: the selection process) or multiple Slayers is very unclear. I also wouldn't guarantee that this means that one of the current Slayer's is going to die.

Obviously, something big is going to happen in the finale

TV Guide

TV Guide posted information on 'Dirty Girls'

Dirty Girls 60 min. Renegade slayer Faith (Eliza Dushku) returns to Sunnydale just in time to help Buffy and her gang fight a nefarious new foe.

The unusually violent episode opens as a girl flees a group of zombies and takes refuge with a cleric named Caleb (Nathan Fillion). However, it quickly becomes clear that Caleb is not on God's side, but the First's. He asks her to deliver a threatening message to the “original, accept-no-substitutes Slayer”...before stabbing the girl. As the Scoobies respond by preparing for battle, Buffy copes with the return of Faith, who, much to Buffy's chagrin, bonds with Spike. Meanwhile, in a lighter vein, Xander fantasizes about wild times with potential slayers.

It also appears that April 22nd will be a repeat, with the four final episodes beginning to air on April 29th.
