PM Update I think that

PM Update

I think that we've had our spoiler excitement for the weekend, nothing new since the Wedding sides hit the street.

The site operator of Spoilerdale wrote, requesting that I remove the 'Jonathan dies' spoiler. They say that they've only listed it as 'possible' and have never said that it was a confirmed spoiler. My personal opinion is that something is either a spoiler or it's speculation, and it should be posted that way. Nevertheless, I have removed that spoiler from the Spoiler Slayer page.

I've also done a major shift in the ranking, in doing so I stepped out on the proverbial limb and moved some 'Highly Unlikely' spoilers to 'Confirmed False'. However, I presume that nobody really takes any spoiler with a 'Highly Unlikely' ranking seriously (although there are those who still think that Willow's going to undo the spell that created Dawn). You'll also notice that I deactivated the links that connect the individual rankings to the entry on this page. Two reasons; First, it was generating a lot of bandwidth (which is starting to get out of hand again, now that new episodes are airing). Second, most of the links were no longer connected to the right entry, as I've been shifting anywhere from 10 to 20 spoilers a week in terms of ranking.

Also, just as a reminder. Updates will only occur twice daily, so there is no need to keep on checking in throughout the day. They usually will occur at around Noon and Midnight - Eastern Standard Time. However, if traffic keeps increasing, I might go down to a single update per day to help keep things in check. Thanks in advance, I never dreamed the site would become this popular. Of course, that might happen anyway once I actually manage to find a job out here.

Site Review - Wendy at The Spoiler Zone

Much like myself, towards the end of last season, Wendy began to post and analyze spoilage that was popping up at various sites. Providing updates on roughly a weekly basis, she covers the latest spoilage and voices her opinion of their veracity. The added bonus is that she will post original spoilage from time to time, something which I don't do at this site. When I first began the site, I resolved that I would not post spoilage myself, mainly since I didn't want issues of bias or conflicts of interests arising. However, much like her analysis, her spoilers are usually dead-on.

In addition, she participates on the majority of the messageboards, web pages, and even groups that discuss Buffy spoilers. Although she has been associated with the Bloody Awful Poet's Society, and does focus more than a bit on Buffy and Spike spoilage, she remains unbiased and impartial when discussing spoilers. Much like Hercules, she often doesn't get the credit that she deserves. She also works hard to dispel rumors and refute inaccurate reports or false spoilers. Often, she ends being criticized as the bearer of bad news. She was the first to break the rumored casting call for a girlfriend for Spike, as well as being the first to report that Tara will be the 'Big Scooby Death'. Although I don't always agree with her spoilers, I do give her credit for having been right every time this season so far.

Another thing that impressed me is her honesty and willingness to accept the blame if she posts a false spoiler. Although we have yet to see if Spike actually has a new girlfriend, up until yesterday it was looking pretty doubtful. About a week ago, I started hearing rumors that the casting call for 'Spike's Girlfriend' was in actuality for the role of Riley's wife. I wrote to her specifically about this, asking if she was going to change or modify the 'girlfriend rumor', so that I could either update or pull that spoiler. She declined, saying that it was only speculation on her part that it might have been the casting call for the 'wife'. Above all else, she feel a loyalty to the fans and understands how damaging false spoilers can be. She knows what kind of effect that spoiler had on fans of Buffy and Spike, and told me that she would take the hit if the spoiler turned out to be false. That says a lot about both her and her spoilers. Which is why, even though she might not be the first on hand with new spoilers, I look forward not only to her comments at the Spoiler Zone, but on the message boards as well.
