AM Update I've made the

AM Update

I've made the updates, and as expected got more than one e-mail about the confirmation about the Buffy/Spike couple status. It is simply a confirmation of the status of the overall pairing of the characters. I said it wasn't a pretty relationship, and this quote keeps popping into my head.

"So it's sorta a relationship. Demented and sad, but a relationship"

It appears that it's going to continue for some time to come. Also, and it's important enough to mention again, most of that spoilage surfaced before the beginning of the season. The spoilers were paraphrased around comments that they would 'do more than tongue-wrestle' or 'they'll kiss once or twice, but nothing more'. The show has almost always been based around couples, and Buffy and Spike were being 'paired off' even before Riley left the show. Willow and Tara are still 'paired off', even though their relationship is up in the air. Same goes for Xander and Anya. Aside from the sex, Buffy obviously has feelings for Spike. Look at how she treats him through much of the end of Season Five, he's the one that she's been sharing things with, he's the one that she feels comfortable being around. I don't think we should ignore that dynamic. That doesn't mean it's a healthy, good, or pretty relationship (but that's life as well).

Zap2It drops in with what would appear to be final confirmation on 'Gone'.

"Gone" - A social services worker threatens to take guardianship of Dawn. Complicating matters, the three villains accidentally turn Buffy invisible with a ray gun forcing the gang to rely on Willow's natural brainpower to save the slayer. Plus, in a moment of panic over her relationship with Spike, Buffy chops off her hair, on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" airing TUESDAY, JANUARY 8 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on UPN.

Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers, Nicholas Brendon as Xander Harris, Alyson Hannigan as Willow Rosenberg, James Marsters as Spike, Emma Caulfield as Anya, and Michelle Trachtenberg as Dawn Summers. Guest starring are Danny Strong as Jonathan, Tom Lenk as Andrew, Adam Busch as Warren and Susan Ruttan as Doris Kroeger. The episode was written and directed by David Fury.
It carries a TV PG parental guideline.

Quick update at BAPS by Wendy, basically information discussed here the past few days.

Some unexpected information from the SciFiWire.

In coming episodes, the source reported, Spike (James Marsters) and Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) engage in sexual shenanigans in the Bronze, Sunnydale's only nightclub; Spike tries to persuade Buffy to let him turn her into a vampire; and Buffy--still experiencing mysterious side effects from her resurrection--takes a stake to the heart, with no ill effect.
Right now, I can say that the Bronze rumor is floating around. Which is the one that Buffy and Spike were not dancing (but doing something very much like dancing) at the Bronze. Several sources (Wendy and Angel X) have reported that it has likely been cut on UPN's request. If all of these spoilers are surrounding Episode '13', I'm skeptical about the accuracy. It's beginning to sound way too much like 'Bad Girls'. Stake to the heart, accidental death, dancing at the Bronze.

I will say that I do give more weight to Spike trying to persuade Buffy, than I do to the 'stake in the heart'. I'm slightly skeptical, but not completely. Spike trying to vamp Buffy is completely within his capability and his character. Remember what he said about what would have happened if she came back 'wrong', that he still wouldn't have let Willow get rid of her. For while Spike might love Buffy, while he might say time and again that he's changed, even while I might have my own opinions about his redemption, he's still a vampire. To him, vamping Buffy would not be immoral or wrong, it could solve both of their problems. He's lost her once, I doubt he's going to want to lose her again.

Mr Video has two pictures from 'Gone', one with the Troika that we've seen, and one with Buffy's new hairstyle (more than likely, like the 'Giles Cake' picture from Tabula Rasa, just a off-camera promo shot).

We've got some quotage from an un-named local TV Guide, posted on the Kitten Board. It's about the rumored end to Tara, and is very pro-Tara. I'm just posting it for now until I can get some kind of solid confirmation.

Q: We are very upset that writers on BTVS have dropped Amber Benson from the show. The relationship between her character and Willow (Alyson Hannigan) gives Buffy a lot of its heart. A: "I think this has been blown a little out of proportion," responds Marti Noxon, one of the show's executive producers. "Amber is under contract to do 16 out of our 22 episodes this season, which isn't really different from last year. She wasn't in all the shows then, either. As for the storyline, well, like everything else in Sunnydale, relationships often don't run smoothly, and Willow and Tara are just going through some problems now, like all our couples. How Tara will come back into the show, and what her future holds, however, is just something fans will have to wait and see."
Finally, just for a chuckle, half of a message from the Cross and Stake (the first portion covers spoilage already on the Spoiler Slayer page, including accurate ones). These aren't serious enough for me to add yet.
Episode 117 –Vengeance: Anya takes the offer to be a vengeance demon, forcing mayhem on Sunnydale. Buffy is forced to fight her, and Anya realizes she’s been bad. Xander and Anya break up.

Episode 118 –Battle of friends: Buffy goes crazy from being alive again, Willow gives in to magical addiction, Anya becomes a vengeance demon once again, Xander kills a human, and Dawn goes to juvenile hall. Buffy, Willow, Anya, Xander, Dawn, and a major showdown.
