More trailers have shown up

More trailers have shown up at UPN, they are pretty short but interesting. Speaking of trailers, and a bit OT, but I really did enjoy the Lords of the Ring trailer last night. I'm pretty much psyched about the movie now, should be very cool (and very true to the books from what I could see). Angel was great, as expected, and I think it works even better letterboxed. Too bad Buffy won't be in that format, but we can hope that the DVD's of the later seasons will include the letterboxing (Season Four - Six have been filmed in this format). As for the ending of Angel, I'm somewhat torn about talking about it directly, just in case some people haven't seen it (or don't want to be spoiled). Let's just say that it's good to know that Darla will be around this season, and probably Lindsey. I did pick up on the new feel, and I have to say that all the actors seemed much more comfortable with their characters. Which is strange, seeing how David and Charisma have been doing their characters for six seasons now. Yet there is a marked difference in both their portrayal and interaction, and it's noticeable in both Wesley and Gunn as well. Also, while it wasn't something that one probably would have picked up during the finale last year, Fred and Angel have great chemistry. It shouldn't be surprising, because she's very much like another young lady that attracted his attention a century ago.

Back to Buffy, reading over the outline for Bargaining, things started clicking in terms of the Buffy Formula. I've already been sitting on one theory, waiting for further spoilage or actual episodes to air before discussing it. If I'm right in my speculation, I would have expected to see signs of the possible 'Big Bad' by the time the 'Little Bad' came onto the scene. Obviously, if Adam Busch is only signed on for 10 episodes, the Troika can't be the 'Big Bad', unless something changes. Everyone is expecting Willow to be the Big Bad, and up until I read the spoilers for the premiere, I was firmly of the mind that she won't be. Now, I'm not so sure.

The writers have said that this will be an entirely different 'Big Bad' this season, something that they haven't done in the past. We've had a vampire, an evil scooby, an evil mortal, a frankenstein, and last season a god. With the emphasis on Willow's increased powers, as well as the Troika, I would fully expect that this seasons 'Big Bad' will be magical in nature. That doesn't mean it's going to be Willow or Tara. We've heard that Amy will finally be de-ratted, who knows what mood she's going to be in . We've heard that one of the Troika is more evil than the rest, that's a possibility. There is also a powerful witch that was last seen trapped in a statue in Sunnydale High, maybe she gets released somehow. Lots of possibilities, including the one that I'm currently favoring, but haven't mentioned. The clues are out there in the spoilers, so I'd be interested if anyone is thinking what I'm thinking.
